Starting Strong, Character Creation in Japan
Set your birth country to Japan and ensure your mother’s nationality is also Japanese, this double-check prevents the game from defaulting to another nationality. Gender doesn’t affect any objective, so choose either. While high Looks, Health, and Smarts are helpful, Smarts matters most: it slightly improves your odds of landing the Exorcist job. Start aging quickly to reach the age where martial arts training becomes available.

Mastering Martial Arts, Judo and Karate
Around age 8 to 10, open the Mind & Body menu and take Judo and Karate lessons. Many players alternate disciplines each year, Judo one year, Karate the next, repeating until both reach “Master” rank. That typically takes 20+ years of consistent practice, so keep lessons going into your 30s or 40s. Avoid excessive school clubs or part-time jobs that drain energy; occasional “Work Out” sessions help maintain health without replacing martial arts.
Some players find it faster to focus on one martial art until they reach intermediate level before starting the other. Alternating works well but can be slower, experiment to see what fits your play style. If you haven’t mastered at least one by age 30, consider restarting. Time is tight because you still need the Exorcist job and haunted house before the challenge expires.
Becoming an Exorcist, The Career Path
Once you turn 18, open the Occupations menu and look for “Exorcist” under Religion or Special Jobs. No special education is required, but high Smarts and a clean criminal record improve your acceptance odds. Apply as soon as it appears. After hiring, work for at least one full year to gain the experience needed for exorcisms later. It’s safest to stay employed as an Exorcist until you finish the final objective. If the job doesn’t show up, check each year, it may appear only every few years. Restarting can be faster than waiting endlessly.

Acquiring a Haunted House, The Luck Factor
This is the most luck-dependent part. Haunted houses appear randomly in the Real Estate menu, marked with a ghost icon or “Haunted” in the description. They tend to be older, cheaper properties, so sort by price (low to high) or age (oldest first) to spot them faster. After turning 18, check Real Estate every year. If none appear, age one year and check again. If you reach age 50 or 60 without finding one, restart.
When a haunted house appears, buy it immediately, even if you need a loan. Just make sure your Exorcist salary or other income covers the monthly mortgage. Bankruptcy will ruin your progress. If you can’t afford any property, temporarily take a higher-paying job, then quit once you own the house.
Performing Exorcisms, The Final Objective
With a haunted house in hand, tap on its property icon. You should see a “Perform Exorcism” option, but only if you’re currently employed as an Exorcist. Select it and hope for success; failure is common. If it fails, age another year and try again. Check your in-game objectives panel, most versions of the challenge require one successful exorcism, but some require two. To be safe, aim for at least two successful exorcisms. You can perform them on the same house or a different one. Once the objective is marked, you’re done.
Time Is of the Essence, Start Now
The mystery prize may be cosmetic, but completing the Demon Slayer Challenge is a badge of honor. By following these steps, crafting a Japanese-born character, mastering both martial arts, securing the Exorcist career, hunting for a haunted house, and performing exorcisms, you can beat the randomness and earn your reward. Start now, stay patient, and you’ll be an exorcist master before the week is out. Good luck!
