New Hero & Narrative Event: Meet Sierra

The headlining gameplay addition is Sierra, a new Damage hero established in the lore as the Head of Security at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa. Her design focuses on controlling space, positioning, and area denial, suggesting a tactical hero who can shape engagements and lock down key zones.

Her debut is supported by a three-week narrative experience, Operation: Grand Mesa. This limited-time PvE-inspired story mission will delve into Sierra's backstory and the secrets of her post, offering players a deeper look into the evolving Overwatch universe outside of standard matches.

A revamped Post Match Accolades system returns, featuring updated visuals and an experimental new feature: optional post-match cross-team voice chat. This could foster more post-game discussion or camaraderie.

The Antarctic Peninsula map is receiving a significant rework focused on improving engagement flow and creating more viable flanking routes. Competitive Play is also getting a new majority vote map selection system for queues, alongside reduced rank loss penalties when playing on new or recently reworked maps.

Stadium Mode Evolution & New Mythic Content

The experimental 4v4 Stadium Mode is receiving a major content injection. The roster expands with Ramattra, while Lijiang Night Market joins as a new Control map. The mode-specific hero Juno is getting a full kit rework. Blizzard has also teased that the fan-favorite Jetpack Cat will be added to the mode at the season's mid-point.

For collectors, new Mythic-tier content arrives. Soldier: 76 receives the high-tech "Volted Overdrive" Mythic skin, complete with new visual effects and customizable options. Genji mains can pursue the "Sumi-ichimonji" Mythic weapon skin, a mastercrafted new blade.

Cosmetic Collections & Collaborations

Two major thematic skin collections launch with the season:

  • Spring Fairy Collection: Features ethereal skins for Illari, Ashe (and BOB), Echo, Lifeweaver, Moira, Symmetra, Torbjörn, Tracer, and Wuyang.
  • Sakura Collection (Available Apr. 14 - May 4): Expands the popular pastel line with new Legendary skins for Esme, Freja, Genji, Hanzo, Junker Queen, and Juno.
